Sirona Quinn was born in 1873 at her family’s estate in Greystones on the east coast of Ireland. The Quinn family was a large family consisting of Sirona’s mother, father and five brothers. Being the only daughter of a well-to-do family, Sirona was brought up and raised in a very strict manner; her life was pretty much laid out for her. She was expected to be a prim and proper woman who would eventually be married off into another of the high society families where she would play the perfect lady. During her young adult years, Sirona started to realise what else there was in the outside world. She became aware that others were more free and that her life was very much different from those outside of the estates’ walls. She started to loathe the way her life was forced into a mould that her family set. She hated that she had no free will or choice. It was during these years that cracks started to show in the peace she found during her studies; some of the older tutors started to show keen interest in her and, although she pleaded for help from her family they ignored her and just allowed things to happen. At the end of the day, there was only one goal in her life. |
By the time she was twenty, she had had enough. It took the kindness and pity of one of the house’s serviteurs before she was able to escape the family estate. She left with just enough money to buy new clothes more fit for the road and little else. She planned to somehow make her way to the Americas where she hoped she would find a new life away from the confines of her family. As luck would have it, whilst travelling through Dublin, she stumbled across a man in an alleyway; beaten, bruised and losing a lot of blood. Thanks to her medical knowledge she managed to patch him up and fell into a loose friendship with him. During the next couple of months, she would tend to his wounds every time he got into a spot of bother and could not visit an official doctor's office. Over time he and his family made moves to travel to the Americas to pursue their interests and she was offered a ticket to join them. She jumped at the chance and made her way to the new world. |
After a long uneventful voyage, Sirona disembarked upon the Boston docks. It did not take her long to become lost in the vastly different environment. She travelled with the man and his family for a few years acting as their personal field medic during that time, patching them up any time they would get into a scrap. It became very apparent very quickly that they were not an ordinary family. Their dealings often came at the end of a gun or they were running some kind of scheme. Running with a minor crime family was not Sirona’s idea of an ideal life, but at the time what choice did she have? She kept her nose clean and stayed away from their antics as they travelled slowly southwards down the eastern coastline. They would move on any time things got a little too hot for them or whenever one of their dealings went bad, never staying in one place too long or overstaying their welcome. For three years they managed to keep ahead of the trouble they caused. Sometimes even having to evade the lawmen. Somehow she had managed to keep her face off of a wanted poster, but she knew her luck would not last forever and it would only be a matter of time before the family’s plans dragged her too far down the rabbit hole for her to escape unscathed. Eventually, she decided to slip away from the family and continue her way southwards in search of a new and hopefully safer life where she could truly be in charge of her own life. |

The last leg of her trip around the Americas was a ship from Miami taking her across the Gulf of Mexico and docking in Saint Denis. By this point, she was low on funds and decided it was time to try and settle down roots to make her own way in the world. She spent the next few days in the city acclimatising herself to the area and learning what she could about the state of MacAlister. It was during these days that she discovered a business opportunity; a town in New Hanover county had a run-down old doctor’s office that was looking for new ownership and management to help support the Annesburg mining community. The town would offer full funding support to cover the cost of the building to a capable doctor willing to take on the assignment. She jumped at the chance. This could be the break she had been waiting for and she was not going to let the opportunity slip by. Gathering some meagre supplies with the little money she had left, Sirona travelled north through Bayou Nwe and up into New Hanover. |

According to guides of the area, Annesburg is; “a mining town established by German settlers who discovered the rich coal seams in the surrounding hills. The surrounding countryside and waterways are sooty and polluted from the mining operations which have been running for almost a century.” This alone proved to keep Sirona quite busy almost from the moment she had moved into the town and set up shop at the office. As soon as word got around that the town had an active doctor again, miners poured through the doors with various occupational injuries. Generally, these injuries ranged from those caused by unstable grounds underfoot to entire tunnel collapses and the horrors of the injuries caused by, having a few tonnes of rock falling atop a person. Life wasn’t easy for the miners and their families in Annesburg. Working conditions are terrible for little pay and many men had lost their lives down the pit. But, at least they had a doctor on hand now, which made things that little bit safer all around. No one told her what had happened to the previous occupant of the medical office in the town, and anytime she brought up the topic people would find an excuse needed to sidle away from it and move on. She stopped asking after a time, feeling it best not to dwell on the past and instead to focus on the future. Now fully functioning once again, the medical office stocks a full range of medical supplies and provides treatments to locals who require them. |
After the situation in Annesburg became such a way that it was deemed too much of a “risk” by the current medical board she was moved out of the mining town. Due to the situation and the fact that the office in Saint Denis was needing someone to manage it, she was given the paperwork to transfer to assist and has been managing the office since. |
During the days of mid-April, one of Quinn's students had earned their fully qualified doctor's license and on the 21st of April took ownership of the medical office in nearby Rhodes. With the cooperation between the two offices, the Lemoyne Medical Group was born once more as the two offices started to work hand-in-hand with each other meaning that medical personnel could once more travel between the two Lemoyne offices for work. |
